Hip Replacement Surgery for Active Patients and Athletes

After more than 20 years of experience with surface prostheses (resurfacing), new materials are being developed to eliminate the potential risks associated with metal-on-metal friction and to provide greater durability without posing any risks to the patient.

Hip replacement surgery using these prostheses is particularly recommended for patients under the age of 65 and athletes; it is a safe procedure that allows people to remain active and maintain their maximum competitive level after a proper recovery.

Dr. Rafael Llopis, one of the pioneers of this type of implant in our country (since 2005) and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, explains the benefits of this type of surgery in this video.
